The work on the last 90% goes on !
The electrical plan is finalized, you don’t see it but it’s highly important, the choice of the different architectures is difficult, the pro and cons of each solution not always easy to grasp. The choices of instruments and panel layout are completed as well. A specialized company is putting everything together and certainly “saving” me several weeks of work and potential errors.
Engine installation and its components is progressing, I requisition the kitchen oven to cook the engine baffles and its heat resistant paint. Good old memories from my childhood comes back : my mother allowed me, a bit resigned, to cook my aircraft model’s canopy in the family oven. Today it wouldn’t fit anymore !
In September, short break in England where, thanks to Vasita, I achieve one of my biggest dream : A Spitfire flight. Its silhouette, its elliptical wing, its 1’700 horsepower Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. 22’000 aircraft built, about 50 still airworthy. The Spitfire is above all a history, a symbol. To fly it will remain one of the greatest aeronautical moment of my life…
But the greatest might be yet to come !
